The announcement of its first Canadian data centres was a milestone development for Microsoft Canada. This was an announcement that would not only change Microsoft’s business, but also how it would be able to service its Canadian customers. We needed a PR campaign that would best leverage the Microsoft Canada cloud announcement to various audiences, including customers, partners and media in both Toronto and Quebec City. We encouraged promotion of the event, using media relations to reach traditional media and word of mouth marketing to reach customers.
We needed to demonstrate the importance of this announcement from a business perspective and develop a strategy that would build awareness with the target business audience. This awareness created a dialogue, established through word of mouth marketing, which led to the education and encouragement of customers to migrate to the cloud.
